A.V. ABDURAHIMAN HAJI ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE is a self financing institution affiliated to the University of Calicut. It was started in 2002 under the name Meppayur Salafi Arts and Science College and was renamed in 2006. The college aims at imparting front line higher education with a moral background to the students especially those who come from educationally and social backward areas. The college is situated in Thurayur Panchayath on a beautiful hillock overlooking Kittiyadi river, nearly 7 km north east of Payoli town. The quiet and serene natural setting away from noisy town but easily accessible due to ample transportation makes the place congenial for the physical, mental as well as intellectual growth of the learners. This is a self financing institution under salafiyya association (Reg.No 12/86) and affiliated to the University of Calicut. It was started in 2002 with the aim of imparting higher education coupled with a morel background to the students in general and to the general and to the educationally backward people of the area in particular. The college has completed 17 years of excellence in the field of higher education. It is functioning in the permanent building on a beautiful campus at Kuluppa overlooking kuttiyadi river, nearly 7 kms north east of Payyoli. The quiet and healthy atmosphere away from the busy town but easily accessible due to the ample transportation makes the place ideal for the physical, mental and intellectual growth of the learners.
A person, who has passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
