Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology is a premier engineering college situated in Mijar was founded in 2008 by AEF to provide affordable quality professional education to the youth of this underdeveloped region.
Established in 2008, AIET has launched path-breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on academic discipline, imparting of Holistic Education and adoption of global higher education practices with the support of creative and dedicated staff. The Institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and recognised by AICTE and University Grants Commission (UGC) of India. In the last academic year two of its departments Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science Department have secured NBA accreditation.
AIET in its endeavour to excel in teaching, research and service offers Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, IT Enabled Services Engineering, and Civil Engineering. AIET also offers a post graduate degree in Business Administration.
To be eligible for admission to B. Tech program in Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology (affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University), candidates must have passed class 12 with Physics and Chemistry with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST). The selection is done on the basis of the written test by KCET.
To be eligible for admission to MBA program in Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology (affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University), candidates must have passed the qualifying graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST). The selection is done on the basis of a written test in the KMAT/GMAT/CAT exam.
Merit cum Means Scholarship is available to minority community students (Muslims, Jains, Christians, Parsis and Zorastrians) and Karnataka E Pass scholarship available for OBC students pursuing engineering and management studies. Moreover, Alva’s Education Foundation awards scholarships to Meritorious and deserving students.

AIET has signed several MOUs with India’s leading Centres for Advancement of Science and Technology, Research Organizations, Industry Associations, Centres of Excellence and Corporates to collaborate on academic and student initiatives, share best practices and generate research studies. The Memorandum of Understanding has facilitated exchange of students and faculty, collaboration on research projects, internships for engineering and post-graduate students, organize technical talks, seminars, workshops and conferences enabling exchange of academic information and materials.
