Founded by the world-renowned humanitarian, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, the multi-campus University was established to provide rigorous academic instruction in an ambience rooted from Indian cultural heritage.
Amrita has 15 schools spread across six campuses in three states of India – Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, with the headquarters at Ettimadai, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. We offer 150+ degree programs, in a variety of disciplines at the UG, PG, and Doctoral levels. Amrita has approximately 18,000 students and 1,750 faculty members, 600 of which are PhD/DM holders. The University also has a staff to student ratio of 1:10, one of the best in the country, especially among private universities.

Over the years Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has developed working relations ship with many of the best universities in the world. Amrita Center for International Programs plays a developmental, strategic and co-coordinating role in the institution’s International work, seeking to provide quality support both internally and externally. Strong collaboration with national and international organizations is the hallmark of all research carried out at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and to this extent we have developed a broad range of international partnerships around the world.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is putting in place a range of institutional links which support key international activities such student exchanges, Dual –Degrees, Remote teaching , the development of joint academic programmes, Co-guiding the PhD students, high-end research collaboration and other collaborative initiatives. In 2012, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was chosen as the Co-Coordinator of the prestigious European Union Project i.e. Erasmus Mundus II (3 Million Euro Project) along with Politecnico Di Torino, Italy.
The Amrita Global Alumni Network (AGAN) is the formal Amrita alumni association and is all set to welcome Amritians (Amrita’s alumni) on board to engage with their alma mater. AGAN will have national and international chapters in several key locations worldwide.
Amritians can register themselves in their local alumni chapters and be in touch with other alumni in theregion!
AGAN is a great way for Amritians to reconnect, refresh and give back to their university! Big or small, every contribution through alumni engagement is invaluable to us!
As a part of AGAN, we have officially set up an Alumni Cell at the University which has a network of Coordinators, both department-wise and campus-wise. We do not want to miss a single opportunity that can engage our alumni and the Alumni Cell will strive to do its best to implement alumni engagement activities across the University. We have also launched our annual AGAN newsletter in 2020.
Several engagement programs have been developed through which Amritians can directly contribute towards students welfare and progress at Amrita.
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks

Boys Hostel
The Campus is residential students. First-year students are accommodated in hostels located on the ashram premises. Facilities available include large and spacious dining halls, cafes selling wholesome Indian and Western goodies, a juice stall, a provisions' store, and a western stationary shop.

Library
The college has a Central Library is the hub of the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Amritapuri Campus. It is a Learning Resource Centre and supports the teaching and learning activities of all the Students, Research Scholars, Faculty Members, and all other staff members on this campus. The Central Library has a carpet area of 1500 square meters. The Library follows an open access system. It has separate sections like spacious stack area, Circulation Counter, Information Desk, Digital Library, Periodical section, a Reference section, Acquisition Section, Technical Section, WiFi-enabled Reading halls for boys and girls. Collection development is one of the main roles to satisfy the need of the end-users. Each year an average of 3500 selected books are added to the collection. Likewise, important journals and online databases are also added to the collection. Central Library has signed an MOU with Delnet, New Delhi. The Library maintains its web page for up to date information to its users.

The college has a One day in the even semester is devoted to competitions in sports where students get the opportunity to exhibit their talents in athletics and games. The facilities provided by the campus help create a healthy spirit of competitiveness in these events.
