Started in the year 1979, Bangalore Institute of Technology has been serving society with the aim to provide quality education in the field of technology. BIT has encouraged a learning environment for the students and has been striving to achieve all-round development of the students. Bangalore Institute of Technology offers 10 undergraduate, 10 postgraduate, and 13 research programmes. The Chemistry department of BIT has been recognized as one of the latest research centers in Karnataka.

The online faculty training programme is launched by BIT, sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning on “Blockchain Technology” from 23rd November 2020 to 27 November 2020.
Boys Hostel The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
Library The central library with 90,000 volumes of textbooks and reference books. The central library houses a total collection of over 79347 documents covering the principal field of interest. The emerging, comprising of books, Print journals, E-Journals, Magazines, Standards, CD’s, Project reports etc. The operation of the library is computerized using Libsoft 9.8.0 version and also provides web-based access to Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) of the library.Electronic Resources: The BIT Central Library can access to over 6362 full-text journals and bibliographic database. The BIT library has also digitized the VTU old question papers and new syllabus for students use.
Sports The college cricket team had actively taken part in tournaments with some of our players going on to represent the University at National level. The institute also organizes the The Annual Athletic MeetĀ for students and its staff members in various sports such as cricket, football, volleyball, kabaddi, track events, carrom, chess, table tennis and shot-put. Our athletic teams have excelled in the recent university level tournaments winning medals in various events like the relay event. The college sports room is equipped with carrom boards, table tennis tables and chessboards and is open from 10 a.m. to4 p.m.
