Baldwin Women's Methodist College, Bengaluru Urban was established in 1995 and managed by the Methodist Church in India, the Chairman of the Board of Governors is the Bishop of the South India Regional Conference. It is one of the premier institutions established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress. The college is affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.34 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 15th September 2016. Mr. John Baldwin, having educated himself by working as a janitor and by chopping wood, made education his mission. He founded the Baldwin Institute in New York in 1845 and the Baldwin High School in 1982. The Baldwin School for Girls was established in 1903 and continues to provide quality education to girls in Bangalore. By the year 1990, the need was felt for good post-schooling education for women and the PUC section started. This was expanded with the addition of the degree section in 1995.
