National College of Law, Shivamogga was established in the year 1966 by National Education Society®, Shivamogga. BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA, New Delhi has recognized the institution from its inception, and the college is accorded Permanent affiliation by KARNATAKA STATE LAW UNIVERSITY. This College is Re-accredited and assessed by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)–UGC at B+ Level by 2016. The College was re-nomenclatured as C. Bhimasena Rao National College of law in the reminisce of its former Principal.

The institution offers Three year LL.B, degree course for graduates as well as Five year LL.B, Integrated degree course for students passing PUC/ (10+2) level with 45 percent of marks. Centre for post graduate studies in law was started in the year 2004-05 to impart post graduate education in business law. However, presently the centre is offering One year LL.M., of two semesters Programme in constitutional law. The Post graduate LL.M., Programme is open to all law graduates with 45 % and who qualify in the entrance examination conducted by Law University.

The college functions in an atmosphere of well equipped campus located in the heart of the city. Committed to excellence in Legal Education, the College has a thoughtfully developed infrastructure for imparting legal knowledge and skills of Advocacy. The independent college building is having spacious lecture halls, well equipped library, well furnished Moot-Court hall, Computer laboratory with internet facility, Multi Gym and an Auditorium. The college provides a separate and spacious room for each class and section. Three class rooms are supported by Smart Boards. A dedicated faculty of highly qualified academicians is in action to help the student advocates to pursue their legal studies. Students are encouraged to interact with the faculty, both inside as well as outside the faculty lounge. Learning the law in the applied sense is also made possible by means of Internship. Thus, college as a living entity consisting of the students, faculty, administrative and supportive staff, is aiming to provide professional training in law, promote legal awareness to strengthen democratic traditions and to uphold constitutional and human values.

The library housed in adjacent halls. As on date, the college library has more than 23.700 of books on its accession. Internet facility, audio-visual and video cassettes, CD’s, overhead and slide projectors and LCD to supplement and strengthen the learning abilities of the students have been provided. An exclusive computer lab with 50 computer and internet facility for quality computer education has been housed on the first floor of the main building. A gymnasium to perfect the physique to nurture a sound and a vibrant mind is situated on the ground floor. Auditorium with a seating capacity for 200 students on the first floor and Moot Court Hall is inviting students to articulate their expression for argumentative skills, their imagination and talent. Academic excellence is the top priority at our college.

Besides encouraging students in their academic pursuits, the college offers many scholarships to encourage quality in achievement. All round development, service mindedness, sacrifice, discipline and character are nurtured in NSS, Red Cross, Red Ribbon and Sports. The college boasts of many excellent sportsmen, NSS Volunteers both at the university and State level. The college owes its development to the dedicated teaching faculty and administrative staff, and the vision of the members of the NES who work in harmony and unison.

    The college has a Multi-Gym facility for the students. It also provides a well-equipped gymnasium with multi-gym facility.

    An institution has a well-equipped library. It has leading Indian and Foreign Journals. Constituent Assembly Debates, Law Commission Reports, law Reports, Commentaries, Encyclopedia and adequate books on both legal and other social sciences. Book bank facilities are being offered to SC, ST, and other backward class students.
  • Sports
    Besides imparting excellent Legal education to the students, the college also encourages extra-curricular activities and sports and games. The college has provided excellent sports and games opportunities for the students for their all-round developments.
