The College of Engineering Thalassery, established in the year 2000. The foundation stone was laid by Sri E.K Nayanar, the then Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala. The new building complex of the College was officially inaugurated by Sri. M.V Raghavan, the then Honorable Minister of Co-operation and Ports in the year 2004. It is located at Kundoormala, Eranholi (West Ponniam) 6.5 km east of Thalassery town in Kannur District. The college is situated on a hilltop with a view of Arabian Sea on one side and the Western Ghats on the other.
The site is easily accessible by road. One can alight at the Thalassery bus stand and catch one of the frequent buses to Kuthuparamba and alight at Nayanar road. Those traveling by train should alight at Thalassery Railway Station and get the bus to Kuthuparamba from the Thalassery Bus Stand. The sprawling campus spread over 25 acres of land provides an ideal atmosphere for the pursuit of knowledge.
The College is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). The College Offers B.Tech courses in the following six Engineering streams and M.Tech courses under Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments. Admission to this college is purely based on the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the Govt. of Kerala. The students of this college are getting top ranks right from the first batch itself among the colleges under CUSAT. This college is the choice of top rank holders in the CEE. This college has made a distinction in discipline, quality teaching and in excellence of students.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) has been established in the Institute. The prime motive of the Cell is to promote spirit of innovation among students and aims to act as one of the biggest platform for Academicians, New-age Entrepreneurs, Eminent Business Personalities & the students to gather, learn & share their ideas and Innovation. The Cell by the means of its various activities aims to motivate young, budding technology graduates to take up Innovative ideas as a career & become Job providers rather than job seekers. The Cell also aims to inculcate the entrepreneurial culture among the students which would in turn inspire them to go a step further and take up the challenge of Entrepreneurship. The EDC at Institute provides mentoring opportunity by its network of acquaintance allies. Students seek benefit by the experience of these initiatives. The association includes professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and Industry experts. The IED Cell by its various activities also guide and assist future entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support system, information on technologies, etc.

- The Candidate shall have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Class XII) of the Board of Higher Secondary Examination. Govt. of Kerala with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as subjects or any other examinations accepted as equivalent thereto by the Kerala Technological University (KTU).
- The Candidate shall have secured a minimum of 50% marks for Mathematics as well as for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.

Girls Hostel
The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
Library
The college has a library facility for all students.
Sports
The College provides various games and sports facilities within the college campus and outside the campus. The future of a nation is healthy only when its people are physically fit and strong. COET lays adequate stress on physical fitness and mental agility. Sports and games activities form an integral part of education here. Yoga and Meditation classes are conducted to inculcate self-discipline and self-control.
Cafeteria
The college has a spacious canteen facility in the college. A variety of south Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college with the highest quality also provides light refreshments like packed snack items, cakes, veg. puff, beverages, etc to the students and staff of the college.
Auditorium
The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.
Wifi
The College has staff and students of the institution who can avail of the wifi facility of the college. All are restricted to use the wifi on laptops only and the same has to be registered with CCF.
IT Infrastructure
The College has Central Computing Facility (CCF)is a centralized Computer Centre for the staff and students of this college. CCF is maintaining and managing the Campus networking and Internet Facility. CCF started in the year 2004 with a browsing facility. Now the CCF is equipped with around 100 Desktop systems, 100mbps NKN internet connectivity with a 30Mbps backup connection. Providing both wired and WiFi connectivity to students and staff.
Transport
The College has, At present eight buses, operated by the college PTA for the convenience of students and staff. Three buses operate between Kannur and the college via Chala, Perallasseri, Mambaram, Kayode, and Kadirur. One bus operates between Kuthuparamba and College via Kadirur. Four buses operate between Thalassery and the college via chonadam.6 Colleges buses are owned by PTA and 2 buses are on contract with PTA. The service of college buses is controlled by a committee that includes student members also. Any complaint regarding the bus operations can be reported to the bus committee. Students and staff who are using college buses should remit the fee every Academic year, calculated based on the working days of that Academic year. A bus pass will be issued based on the remittance of the bus fee for both students and staff, which should be kept with them by traveling by college bus. Rules are over leafed in the bus pass

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.
Convenience Store
The College is running a full-fledged storeroom for providing services to students and staff. Fair Records, Rough Records, Workbooks, Drawing Sheets, and Assignment books are available in the storeroom. Textbooks for some subjects are also available in the storeroom. Photostat facilities are provided for students and staff during college working time. Stationery items like a paper pen are also available.
