Guru Nanak College Chennai is popularly known as GNC Chennai. The college is a co-educational college and it is affiliated with the University of Madras. The college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council as an ‘A’ Grade college. Also, GNC Chennai is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Guru Nanak College Chennai aims to provide quality education to the students from the less privileged sections of society and to impart knowledge that is empowering, value-based and holistic.
Guru Nanak College Chennai infrastructure is spread across 20 acres of land. The college offers 23 undergraduate, 9 postgraduate programmes and 10 disciplines in the Ph.D programmes, Zoology and Economics subjects are offered under the MPhil programme. GNC Chennai has a green and clean campus and its infrastructure has modern classrooms for the students, a set of well-equipped laboratories for all departments. Guru Nanak College Chennai has two modern auditoriums named ‘Guru Teg Bahadur Auditorium’ and ‘Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Auditorium. The college has one centralised library which has a vast collection of books and journals for different subjects and five departmental libraries. GNC Chennai provides hostel facilities, facilities for sports and cafeteria facilities for the students.
