From its humble beginning as a Food Craft Institute in1969 offering short term courses, the College was re-christened to its present name in1983 and commenced offering the 3 Year Degree in Hotel & Hospitality adminstration. Today, the Institute is widely regarded as one of the premier Institutes in the country to equip aspirants to the hospitality service.

The Bangalore Institute was set up jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka.. One of the most striking features of the Institute is the cosmopolitan composition of its students. Young people from diverse backgrounds and from different corners of the country find a common ground here to study and grow together. Group activities, both within and apart from the curriculum help create a unique bond among the students. Outstation students seldom have difficulties coping with the lifestyle in Bangalore.   • 10+2 or equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects from a recognized board.
  • Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core / elective / functional) in the qualifying examination. 
  • Candidates appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) on provisional basis.
  • Candidate should be of or below 25 years of age as on July 1
  • In case of SC / ST candidates upper age lim

Facilities

  • Boys Hostel
    The border will be required to occupy the hostel seat granted for a minimum period of 12 months of his course, and will not request to vacate the same before completion of the said period, until and unless so advised by an authority. Allotment of rooms may not necessarily be of one’s choice. It is the sole discretion of the administration, which may allow the rooms/beds either on first come first serve basis or any other basis, intentionally placing students of varying academic, cultural, social and national backgrounds together so that cross-cultural, academic, social and national learning is achieved. Rooms once allotted will not be changed without any genuine and acceptable reason. Each hostility is responsible for his/her personal belongings. It is advisable not to keep valuable and costly items in the room, and money should be deposited in the nearest bank. Institute/Hostel authority is not responsible for any kind of theft or misplacement of things.
  • Girls Hostel

    The Institute has a well-stocked library with the latest books, periodicals, journals both national and international covering all aspects of Hotel, Tourism, Hospitality, Travel and Management. The library also has a good collection of Video tapes on all aspects of management and hoteliering which could be viewed by the students. The Library has multi-media resources enabling students to access Internet and students are encouraged to use free E-mail facility.
  • IT Infrastructure
    The campus equipped with 30 terminals on a Local Area Network with the latest multi-media systems with Internet connectivity. Students have hands-on experience with HMS and application packages.
  • Laboratories
    The college has all the food production labs are fully equipped with indigenous and imported equipment.
