Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, 56 K B Dasan Road, Teynampet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu -The Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for women (formerly "S.I.E.T Women's College") maintained by the Southern India Education Trust, founded by Late Justice Mr.Basheer Ahmed Sayeed assisted by his wife Mrs. Fathima Akhtar and other colleagues, endeavours to maintain a programme that will develop women of great integrity, high character and culture who are fully capable of making enlightened choice and intelligent judgment in a social order which is dynamic and which requires the best contribution from every man and woman.
From its inception the College has been rooted deeply in the spirit of the oneness of God and Universal Brotherhood of Man. Therefore, the portals of the College have been kept open for all eligible women students from all parts of the country and the world irrespective of caste, creed or religion. Cultural and spiritual unity is encouraged in the day-to-day life within the College campus.
The College maintains high standards of excellence in the academic sphere and in the physical amenities and facilities intended to implement the educational programme. The College endeavours to enroll students who hold high standards of performance, discipline and achievement.
In addition to the autonomous curriculum which is expected to provide a broad foundation of general education and a reasonable amount of specialization, a diversified programme of campus activities-social, recreational, cultural and religious-supplements and complements the academic study and provides facilities and opportunities for the development of individual talent, personal relationship and creative group life with high moral standards.

- Department of Commerce (Forenoon Session) is conducting a Special Lecture on GST Procedures and Practices on 19.08.2019 by Mr. K. Gopal Krishna Raju,Chartered Accountant and M/s K. Gopal Rao & Co.
- Inauguration of the Life Science Association 2019 will be held on 16.08.2019at 9.15 A.M in the college Auditorium jointly conducted by the PG and research Department of Zoology, Department of Plant biology and Plant Biotechnology and Department of Biochemistry.
- The chief guest Dr.D.Sudhakaran, General Manager, Golden Jubilee Biotech park for Women society, Navallur will speak on the topic “Scope of Bioscience and its Current trends”.
- 73rd Independence day celebration will be held on Thursday 15th August 2019 at 10.30 A.M. in the college Auditorium. Thiru.C.L.Ramakrishnan, Director, vigilance and Anti-Corruption(Retd.), Government of Tamilnadu, will be the Guest of Honour.
- The inauguration of Consumer Rights Association of Afternoon Session will be held on 5th August 2019 at 2 P.M in the college Auditorium.Chief Guest: Ms.Swathy Satyamurti, Director Consumer Association of India will deliver the inaugural address, Mr.G.Santhanarajan, Director, CONCERT Trust will give special address on "How to protect ourselves as consumer".

The College has a spacious library equipped with the latest books, magazines and journals. Students can access the internet free of charge and refer to e-Journals, e-Books through IN FLIP NET and NLIST. (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) The Academic Search Premier of EBSCO, a multi-disciplinary resource database with nearly 3000 active full-text journals and magazines are available for students within the Campus. - Sports
The College has a good sporting facility The College motivates the Students to take part in the Zonal and Inter-State Matches. J.B.A.S Sports festival -An Inter-Collegiate Sports Gala is conducted in the College Campus every year to provide an opportunity for our students to excel in the field of sports. - Cafeteria

The college has a swimming pool facility for the students. This is the only college in the city which has a swimming pool exclusively for women, and which is open to all students of the College free of cost.
