The Archdiocese of Trichur has an illustrious track record of a century and a quarter in the education sector. St. Thomas High School was established in 1889. St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, is one of the leading centers of higher education in Kerala since 1919. This institution is older than all the Universities in Kerala and currently is one of the largest and most reputed Arts and Science Colleges in the State. The Archdiocese of Trichur has also set up Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute, an institution of excellence in medical education and research. Additionally, the Archdiocese of Trichur, as a mark of its commitment to the field of higher education, runs St. Mary's ITC, Kacheri, Thyagarajar Polytechnic Technical Institute, Amballur and Thozhil Abhyasana Peedam, Madona Nagar.

Boys Hostel
Jyothi Engineering College has a boys hostel named Santhome. The hostel is located within the residential area of the campus. Some of the facilities offered at the hostels are a TV hall, table tennis and other indoor games, a gymnasium, notice board. All the rooms of hostels have phone facilities.
Girls Hostel
The college has a separate hostel for girls namely Marian. Jyothi Engineering College girls hostel is located within the residential area of the campus. Students wanting to take admission in the hostel need to submit the application form in a prescribed format on the college’s official website. Jyothi Engineering College facilities are a TV hall, table tennis and other indoor games, a gymnasium, notice board.
Gym
Jyothi Engineering College has a well-maintained gymnasium, catering to the needs of fitness enthusiasts. Students and staff can use the gymnasium. Jyothi Engineering College gym has a bench press, peck deck, bicep curl, lateral pulley and body twister machines.

Jyothi Engineering College library is housed in the administrative block spanning two floors. The library has a seating capacity of 160 people. The library has a collection of books and other information resources on science and technology. Also, the library subscribes to print periodicals.

Laboratories
The language laboratory is an audio or audio-visual installation used as an aid in modern language teaching. The language lab is utilized at Jyothi to expose the students to the language of the native English speaker. The software ORELL is used to familiarize normally used colloquialisms while maintaining correct grammar. It introduces interview skills, communication skills and methods to increase vocabulary and language awareness.
Banks Facilities
An extension counter of the Federal Bank Ltd is there at Jyothi Engineering College. Students pay their fees through the bank and staff draw their salaries from the extension counter of the Federal Bank.
