Jyoti Nivas College was founded by the sisters of St.Joseph of Tarbes in the year 1966. It is located in bangalore and affiliated to Bangalore University. It is a minority Christian College. Though the college started with humble beginings,it has steadily grown from strength to strength,acquiring of fullfledged status in a very short time.

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board with 60% marks in aggregate (50% for the students of Karnataka).

  • Girls Hostel
    The hostel is run by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes. Admission will be granted on the fulfilment of the following conditions: Admission to the collegePayment of hostel fees Regulations:An important rule in the hostel and college is - consideration for others. The life in the hostel will depend on your courtesy and co-operation with the warden, staff and companions in a friendly and open manner. Every student is expected to take part in at least one of the extracurricular activities in college. You are expected to take care of the furniture, crockery, books and other common property of the hostel. Visitors:When a student joins the hostel, she will present to the warden a list of authorized visitors, signed by her parents.

    Our gymnasium is a proud addition to the facilities we provide in terms of recreation in addition to academics. Recently 3 lakh-worth equipment was added to the Gym - Multi-Gym, Cross-Trainer, Treadmill, Upright Bike, Recumbent Bike and Stationary Bike.

    The library is a multimedia information service centre. It has a carefully selected and a growing collection of more than 80,000 books and subscriptions to around 154 current periodicals and journals and variety of non-print information sources.     Physical education is an integral part of the curriculum where our students show their excellence as achievers, winners and representatives of Throw ball, Hand ball, Foot ball, Soft ball, Cricket and Hockey. We are proud and acknowledge that we hold in India to host and organize "Women's Cricket Utsav", an event which lasts 10 days. It is a step towards promoting women's cricket in India. - 'Sphygmus' is another gala annual inter - collegiate event that inscribes a true spirit of sportsmanship which has been conducted every year, since the last 10 years. - Our throw ball, soft ball, football, hockey, basketball and athletics teams have won the 1st place at almost every major tournament that they have taken part. - Our students have excelled individually and collectively in bringing laurels to the college, to the University, to the state and the country as well. - Students and teachers also avail the Gym facilities of the college.

    Jyoti Nivas College launches new food court in the campusJyoti Nivas College Autonomous inaugurated its new canteen on January 31, 2018 in the presence of Honourable Home Minister Shri Ramalinga Reddy and Dr. Arathi Krishna, Deputy Chariman, NRI Forum Karnataka. The management of Jyoti Nivas College, Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes were present in good number to celebrate the occasion. Welcoming the gathering, the Principal, Dr. Sr. Elizabeth called us to remember with gratitude God's bounty as Jyoti Nivas College endeavors to set new standards, scale new heights and cross new milestones every year. "On this illustrious day, Jyoti Nivas College Autonomous opened yet another facility to cater to the needs and interests of students", she said. The new facility can house over users and serves variety of eatables at very reasonable rate. It also has a mini mart to respond to various needs of students. The canteen has already become a hit among the students.

    The Auditorium is a stately structure which is truly an imaginative blend of aesthesis and convenience with subtle sophistication and modest magnificence.

    To integrate Information System Technology into the present curriculum, the college is one of the first educational institutions to boast its internet connectivity through Cisco Router with 100 MBPS line connecting its students to the world and beyond. The faculty and the students are encouraged and allowed to surf the net free of cost. Moreover, nodes are provided in the library for the students to send and receive E-mail.
