Started in the year 1980, the institution has completed 39 years of its fruitful existence towards achieving perfection in all aspects of technical education and training and has emerged as one of the most sought-after destination for technical and management education by students and parents from all over India.
JNNCE is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The college offers BE courses in 7 branches of engineering, namely, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering. As many as five disciplines, namely, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering were accredited from the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi till 2009 and the renewal process of accreditation as per Out Come Based Education has been initiated. The college also offers 9 PG courses, namely, MCA, MBA and M.Tech., in Computer Science and Engineering, Network and Internet Engineering, Design Engineering, Digital Electronics and Communication Systems, Power Electronics, Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Transportation Engineering and Management.
JNNCE is also a University recognized research centre in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering , MBA, Physics and Chemistry leading to the award of M.Sc. (Engg.) and Ph.D. So for 23 candidates have been awarded Ph.D. from our research centres.

The college is located at Savalanga Road, Navule, Shivamogga, Karnataka. There are various modes of transport to reach JNNCE. One can travel by road, rail or air to reach the college. The nearest railway station is Shivamogga Railway Station. The distance between the railway station and the college is 3.3 km and would take around 8 minutes from cab or auto. The nearest airport is Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. It is located at a distance of 335 km and would take approximately 6 hour 11 minutes from cab or auto. Shivamogga Bus Terminal is the nearest bus stop. It is 5.8 km far from JNNCE and would take 16 minutes from the bus stop.

Facilities
- Boys Hostel
The hostels are very spacious and provide comfortable accommodation to the outstation students. Single accommodation facility is available for final year students and postgraduate students. Other JNNCE hostel facilities include a mess, TV, sports, gym, transport, etc. - Girls Hostel
The college also provides hostel facilities for girls. The JNNCE girls hostel facilities include well-furnished rooms, uninterrupted supply for water, electricity, modern appliances, mess, etc. Recreational facilities like TV and indoor games are also available. - Gym
A multi gym hall is also available on the campus. JNNCE gym facilities include modern machines like powerlifting, weight lifting, etc. The gym also has a trainer to guide the students. - Library
JNNCE library facilities include textbooks, reference books, periodicals, national and international journals, newspapers, magazines, etc. The library is fully automated with elib software and has a reprographic and photostat facility. Book bank facility is also available. - Sports
Department of Physical Education and sports of JNNCE provides both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Inter departmental sports and annual sports day are also organised by the department. JNNCE outdoor sports facilities include a 400 metres track for athletics, international standard turf cricket ground, volleyball, throwball, handball, kho-kho, kabaddi, football, hockey, ball badminton, basketball, etc. Table tennis, chess, carrom, wooden badminton court, Taekwondo, etc are the indoor games facilities available at JNNCE. - Cafeteria
Vegetarian food and snacks are served in the college cafeteria. The functioning of the canteen and the quality of the food is supervised by the canteen committee. - Auditorium
The college has a spacious auditorium. The auditorium is used for multipurpose activities like organising events and seminars. - Medical/Hospital
A medical clinic is located on the campus to provide free primary treatment to the students, college staff and faculty members. Medical practitioners and medical officers administer the requisite medical services. - IT Infrastructure
The whole campus is enabled with wi-fi. The networking of the entire campus is controlled and managed by the college IT infrastructure. - Transport
JNNCE transport facilities include a fleet of buses and shuttle services. The college also has a transportation committee. - Laboratories
JNNCE has departmental laboratories. The laboratories are equipped with modern instruments and apparatus to help the students in practicals. - Guest Room
JNNCE guest house facilities are available for official guests, parents, alumni, participants attending sports/cultural events, conferences, training programmes, etc. JNNCE guest house facilities include two spacious AC rooms, three bedded non AC big rooms, drawing room, RO drinking water, etc. - Banks Facilities
A branch of Canara Bank is located on the campus. The bank provides all modern banking services to the students and staff members. A 24X7 ATM is also functional. Loan facilities with reasonable interest rates are provided to the students and staff members. A post office is also located in the vicinity of the campus.
