KJ Somaiya Comprehensive College of Education, Vidyanagari, Vidyavihar-(East), Mumbai-400077, MaharaK.J. Somaiya Comprehensive College of Education & Research, Mumbai was established on 29th August 1990 under the management of which is managed by Somaiya Trust which was established on 9th September 1959. It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress. The college is affiliated with University of Mumbai, Mumbai and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offers B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.27 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 19th January 2016. The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves. It is a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Mumbai played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) courses for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

A Candidate Should have a Bachelor’s degree of any faculty of any recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. (Relaxation of the minimum percentage of marks to 45% for candidates from Reserved Categories).

The library is a vast ocean of knowledge interspersed with different pearls of well-stocked books, Educational Journals, and CDs. Our library is stocked with 7899 B.Ed and 2144 M.Ed books. To supplement this knowledge our library has a depository of 12 journals, EBSCO and N-List Database of the full-text journal with E-Books, Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Year Books, and new pearls in the form of new books are added frequently. Along with this, the library offers services of interlibrary loans to avail the rich reservoir of knowledge from other libraries. - Sports

The institution has opened up the windows on knowledge by setting up a well-equipped computer laboratory which assists us to keep pace with the current changing roles of the teacher in this technology-driven educational scenario. The institution has a full-fledged computer laboratory with LAN and 24 hours uninterrupted Internet connection. The laboratory is equipped with Scanner, CD writer, and other equipment which are effectively utilized by the faculty as well as students to make their teaching-learning process and research effective. Open access to online research-based journals is provided to the students to equip them with the skills of conducting research. - Laboratories
The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students. The institution optimally utilizes the Psychology Laboratory which has various standardized intelligence tests, aptitude, creativity tests, and also interest, adjustment, and personality inventories which prove to be beneficial to the M.Ed and the Ph.D. students in their endeavors related to psychological constructs. In addition to this, the institute is equipped with the requisite equipment required for conducting the various psychology experiments for B.Ed students. - Guest Room
