The KMEA Engineering College is dedicated to the fond memory of Sri. C.H. Mohammed Koya, a dynamic visionary, an eminent educationalist and administrator.
Established in 2002 by the Kerala Muslim Educational Association, KMEA Engineering College is a private self-financing college which provides quality education and unique learning experience in science and technology. The institution has grown many fold in just over 15 years and became one of the major institutions among the new generation engineering colleges in Kerala.
At present the College offers B.Tech degree in six engineering subjects Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation & Computer Science and Engineering. The College has M.Tech programmes in Civil Engineering, Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, Power Electronics. The strength of students and faculties is around 2000 and 200 respectively.

Rapid urbanization and industrialization in the 21st century have created increased pollution in the environment and natural resources. It is the utmost responsibility and accountability of every citizen to combat and mitigate the environmental problems.
The Department of Civil Engineering, KMEA Engineering College, Aluva is organizing a “Two Days National Workshop on Environment Restoration” in connection with World Environment Day.
The workshop would provide a platform for budding civil engineers and faculties to interact with experts from academics and industries of diversified fields of Environment, Pollution & Climate Change.
The College has various national and international collaborations.
The “Alumni meet 2018” was conducted on Friday 26th Jan 2018 at the KMEA campus. The occasion was graced by many important personalities and by the alumni members ranging across various batches passed out from the college from 2006 onwards. About 144 Alumni from various branches participated in the function with their family members. A friendly cricket match was arranged between the Alumni and the present students of KMEA before the commencement of the program. KMEA College honored the 2006 & 2007 batch Alumni of every department. For the extraordinary achievements and performance in the field of service, a ”Best Alumni Excellence Awardtook ”Best student performer Award for the year 2017” and ”Best Alumni award” for the unconditional commitment and enduring dedicated services for KMEA was distributed.
Admissions to B.Tech Programmes are strictly based on merit through Govt. Quota and Management Quota-
- Eligibility for admission to the B.Tech program, admission policy, and procedure shall be decided from time to time by following the guidelines issued by the Government of Kerala and other statutory body such as APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), AICTE
- 50 % Govt. Quota seats and 50% Management Quota seats (including NRI Quota seats)

Boys Hostel
The boy's Hostel of KMEA Engineering College is located in Edathala Panchayat and is nearby the college campus of KMEA Engineering college. The hostel campus is inaugurated during Jan 2004 starting with double floor building with the capacity of a totally of 40 rooms. Now the building area is turned into the three-floored building with a total capacity of 61 rooms.
Girls Hostel
The Girls Hostel of KMEA Engineering College is located in Edathala Panchayat and is within the college campus of KMEA Engineering college. The remaining area is of green coverage. The hostel campus is inaugurated during Aug 2009 starting with a single floor building with the capacity of a totally of 30 rooms. Now the building area is turned into the two-floored building with a total capacity of 61 rooms. The hostel is located in an eco-friendly environment surrounded with flower plants and trees like mango, pine, coconut, etc.
Library
The Central Library has a well-equipped collection of books, project reports, seminar reports, back volumes of journals, CD ROMs, and e-resources of all engineering subject areas. The book collection has prominent textbooks, supplementary reading materials, and reference books. The library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for researchers, the faculty, and the student community. The Central Library is located in the PSTA Block of the College and is spread over two floors of 800 sq m. area. It has a separate reference section, issue cum reading room, periodical section, Book bank, Digital Library, Internet, and PG section. The operations of the library are fully computerized with KOHA Library software. The database of books available in the library is being updated on a day-to-day basis with details of the acquired books. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is connected to LAN which enables users to access databases of library resources. The library provides IP enabled access to a large number of full-text online journal databases from the various publishers. The reading area in the library has been WI-Fi enabled to provide wireless access to the Internet. Users are welcome to use their laptops in the library. 10 PC is meant for users to access databases, e-books, e-journals, and other e-resources.
