The Centre is administered by a Governing Body and an Executive Committee. The Chief Minister, Government of Kerala is the Chairman of the Governing Body and the Minister for Education is the Vice-Chairman. The Principal Secretary for Higher Education is the Chairman of the Executive Committee and the Director of Technical Education is its Vice-Chairman. The Director of the Centre is the Member Secretary of both the bodies. He is the Executive head of the Centre. There are Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, Administrative Officer, Finance Officer and other subordinate staff to help the Director in administration and financial matters.
LBSCEK is a self-financing engineering college under Government of Kerala. The campus is located at Povval, about 12Km away from Kasaragod city.

The LBS College of Engineering Kasaragod Alumini Association (LBSCEKA) was launched in 1997. The major objective of LBSCEKA is to foster, prompt and develop fraternity and unity among all teaching staff, staff, retired/former teachers and former students of LBSCE Kasaragod and to work together for the betterment of LBSCEK. The association aims to establish good rapport with former students of LBSCE and organize various programmes which will be mutually beneficial. It provides a forum for the alumini of the College to meet and discuss the matters of common interest and promote goodwill and mutual co-operation among the members.

Candidates included in the entrance rank list published by CEE, Kerala and admission to the Engineering course should otherwise satisfy the rules regarding the minimum academic requirements in the qualifying examination enumerated as follows: a) Higher Secondary Examination/equivalent: Pass with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics put together. b)3-year Diploma engineering/equivalent: Pass with 50% in marks in the final Diploma examination.
