‘Seek to Excel’ is the motto of M.E.S. Teachers College. The college was established in the year 1958. The first principal of the college was Prof. K.V. Doreswamy. Thereafter the institution was led by Prof. C. Rangachar, Prof.C.L. Gopinath Rao, Prof. M.R. Srinivasa Rao, Prof. Shanta A Diwakar, Prof. A.N. Vijaya Murthy, Prof. G.S. Suryanarayana, Dr. H.S. Ganesha Bhatta, Prof. B.R. Gopal. At present Smt. P. Mythili Raju is the principal of the college.
A good education is the basic foundation required to produce worthy and dynamic teachers who can contribute well to the progress of the nation and the world at large. Through its academic raining, the college aims at inculcating the high ideas like virtues of industry. Self-sacrifice, service, honesty, godliness and the high ideals handed over to us as the precious cultural heritage of this great land. Students are encouraged to achieve purity of thought, word and deed through self-discipline.
The campus is located at Rajajinagar, Bengaluru which is 5Km way from Vidhana Soudha and has a serene scenic landscape. M.E.S. Teachers College was assessed and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council at ‘A’ level in the year 2005. Re-Accreditation by NAAC in 2015 with CGPA 3.19 Grade "A". The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee during the years 2009 and 2010
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has accorded permanent recognition to the college from the year 1996 onwards in recognition to the quality and standard of facilities available in the institution.
The college has been upgraded as "College of Teacher Education" in the year 1998 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, with this, the college has an additional academic responsibility of providing in-service teacher development programmes covering all the secondary schools of Bangalore Rural and Tumkur districts of the Karnataka State apart from teacher development programmes of regular and distance mode.
Candidates must be citizens of India and should be Karnataka candidates for Government seats.
Candidates must be graduates with a Graduation Degree and shall have studied any one of the Languages and two of the three electives specified below. Candidates should have studied two of the three electives for all three years at degree for graduation level.
Library The college has a well-stocked library with a rich collection of books, CD-ROMs, audio-cassettes, and teaching aids. The collection reflects almost all the areas of education such as secondary education, higher education, educational administration and supervision, history and problems of education, educational psychology, counselling and special education, etc.. A large number of magazines, periodicals, and journals are subscribed by the library to provide the student’s valuable information, knowledge, and exposure. The library has 12,211 books and has a seating capacity of 50. The house keeping operations are computerized with Easylib Software. The college has registered for the N-LIST Programme of MHRD. The Staff and Students have access to 2100 e-journals and 51,000 e-books.

Auditorium The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminar.
Medical/Hospital The college has a health center with first aid facility for the students.
IT Infrastructure The college has excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
Laboratories Language Lab: There is a fully equipped language lab with audio aids and the latest technology to help the students achieve native speaker’s skills in the English language. Psychology laboratory: Most of the apparatus available in the laboratory is based on the principles of learning, attention, perception, immediate and delayed memory, intelligence, and personality. The students of both B.Ed and M.Ed courses utilize them. Technology Laboratory: We believe that the development of new technologies affords us an unprecedented opportunity to transform the learning experience for our students. The infrastructure at the College is carefully developed in response to students and faculty needs and ensures that there are no boundaries between the discovery, transfer, and application of knowledge. The college has a good audio-visual laboratory, which provides practical training to the teachers and teacher trainees in the handling of various types of audio-visual equipment.
