Muthoot takes its name from its Family, which is a branch of a traditional Orthodox Christian family, based in Kozhencherry, a small town in the erstwhile primary state of Travancore (Kerala). In the year 1887, Muthoot Ninan Mathai (Patron Founder of the group), started in a humble way as a retail and whole-sale trader of grains at Kozhencherry. The family partition took place in the year 1979 which led to the Genesis of Muthoot George Group (MGG). Over the years business grew gradually into gold loans and chits during 1950’s and expanded into Financial Services, Information Technology, Media, Healthcare, Education, Power Generation, Infrastructure, Plantations, Precious metal, Tourism, and Hospitality..

Boys Hostel
The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
Girls Hostel
The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
Gym
The college has a Gym facility for the students. Giving importance to both physical and mental fitness, the college has Gymnasium with the latest machines and exercise equipment’s. Well-equipped gymnasiums for ladies and gents are available in the respective hostel blocks within the campus for students as well as the faculty. The in house Gym is a popular spot for hostel students who cannot otherwise access such facilities. Both Students and faculty are encouraged to use the facility which includes various equipment’s like treadmill, stepee, seated chest press, twister etc.
Library
The college library has a total collection of about 14000+ physical collections including 1500 reference titles. A rich collection of general titles consists of books on soft skill, fiction collection, and competitive examinations attract voracious readers to Library. Journals: We subscribe to 60+ technical magazines and journals which are peer-reviewed, published by professional bodies, and are indexed in leading Indexing databases. Multimedia: It has more than 1500 DVD collections which are supplementary to print collections. The library provides IP based access to electronic resources
Sports
The college has ample facilities for major games like basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, throw-ball, etc., indoor games like table tennis and carom, etc. It also has a very well-furnished health club with excellent facilities for developing a fine and athletic body.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.
Auditorium
The College at present has two auditoriums. MITS campus has one fully-fledged Seminar Hall and separate department seminar halls as per the requirement.
Medical/Hospital
The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
IT Infrastructure
Common/Central Computing Facility will provide access to the network to students and staff. At present 650 PCs, are connected with the local area network to the main server. A high-speed internet connection of 125 Mbps is available. Various OS (Windows, Linux, etc.) with application software as per the requirement of the curriculum are available.
Transport
The college has eight college buses in our fleet which caters to the transportation needs of 350 plus students. Buses are also utilized for industrial visits and social service activities.
Laboratories
The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students. Digital Circuits Laboratory Analog Circuits Laboratory Microprocessor and Embedded Systems Laboratory Digital Signal Processing (DSP) laboratory VLSI lab etc.,

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
