Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Ludhiana, formerly known as Malwa Training College, Ludhiana, was established in 1955 by the Khalsa Dewan, Ludhiana, in pursuance of its aims of promoting education facilities for all, in general, and for the rural Punjab, in particular. The College of Education is one of the six Educational institutions being run by the Khalsa Dewan. The other five being : Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School, established in 1907. Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School, established in 1940. Khasla College for Women, established in 1959. Malwa Institute of Professional Studies and Services, estlablised in 1995. Khalsa Institute of Management and Technology for Women, established in 2000.
Girls Hostel The College hostel is one of the modern design and is equipped with all the modern amenities. The College head girl is provided a separate room in the hostel.
Gym The college also has a well-equipped gymnasium with all the basic facilities like treadmill, mechanized cycle, multipurpose work station, weights, bars etc.
Library The college library has an excellent collection of books on various subjects. As many as 100 Journals and periodicals are available for the staff and students. The catalog in the library facilitates easy information on available books, journals, and articles. The library has more than 26490 books and about 200 volumes are added every year. The library is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 PM.
Sports The campus provides playgrounds for hockey, volley ball, basketball,tennis, badminton, kho-kho, cricket and a track of 200 metres.
Cafeteria The college has a hygienic and reasonably priced canteen which serves both the students as well as the staff. The food served in the canteen is hygienic as well as nutritious. It has a seating capacity of 80 persons.
Auditorium The institution has a seminar room with a seating capacity of 100students. This hall has excellent sound system, LCD projector, i-podium which is used for seminars.
IT Infrastructure The college has well equipped Computer Laboratory with adequate systems, server and printers. The faculty and the students are encouraged and allowed to surf the net free of cost.
Laboratories The College educational technology laboratory is well equipped, with an LCD projector, digital camera, overhead projectors, slide projectors, filmstrip projectors, television, tape recorders, DVD player, and other equipment required for the teaching-learning process.
Guest Room The college has a guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
