Mar Augusthinose College  Ramapuram, a UGC Recognized [2(f)] & an ISO 9001:2015 CERTIFIED minority Institution, founded in 1995 belongs to a network of education institutes founded and operated by the Eparchy of Pala, a Catholic Diocese which runs half a dozen colleges and over 155 Schools. Ramapuram, a land divinely hallowed by St. Augustine, its patron; the author of Varthamana Pusthakaom Paremakkal Governador,. Blessed Kunjachan and permeated by the presence of literary doyens like Ramapurath Warrier and Smt. Lalithambika Antherjanam had always vibrated with cultural and educational enterprises. St. Augustine’s Forane Church has been an icon that spearheaded the academic and cultural activities of the locale by founding 4 Schools as early as in the 19 century. Yet the people of Ramapuram had to depend on colleges elsewhere for higher education. The dream of transforming Rampuram to an Educational Hub had been always fondly cherished by the people. The right ambience and occasion for founding a college at Ramapuram dawned in 1995 when the state Government decided to extend the higher education horizon to unaided spheres too. The great visionaries HE Mar Joseph Pallikaparambil and Rev. Fr. Augustine Perumattam, the then vicar of St Augustine’s Forane Church after much deliberations and prayers decided to establish a College in Self Financing Stream at Ramapuram in 1995. In founding the college, the founders had in their minds the glorious task of dispelling darkness and spreading the light of true wisdom all around irrespective of caste, creed, language or religion. Strictly adhering to and holding fast to its Vision and Mission and the core values, the college today is a leading centre of academic excellence, a knowledge hub where words come out from the depth of truth; where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit; where the mind is led forward into ever-widening thought and action. The college has made every effort to be compassionate and sensitive to the marginalized and the people in need. This has been always the unique character of Mar Augusthinose where the mind is adorned with rich lore and each tutored faculty’s yearning is sated and taught to seek more.
