Mar Chrysostom College is owned and governed by the Catholic Diocese of Marthandam. The founder of the college is Most. Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom the former bishop of Marthandam Diocese.
At present Most Rev. Dr. Vincent Mar Paulos, the bishop of Marthandam Diocese is the chairman of the college. Rev. Fr. S.Varghese is the Correspondent/Secretary of the college.
The college is approved by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) and affiliated to TNTEU (Tamilnadu Teachers Education University). The Diocese of Marthandam founded Mar Chrysostom College of Education on 14/12/2006, the auspicious day of the 10th year of installation of the Diocese of Marthandam.
Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor?s Degree and Master?s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/ Humanity, Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification, equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the program.
Girls Hostel The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
Library The college library has been designed with the intention of supporting the student teachers. The library is fully equipped with various books relevant to Teaching learning methodology. There are around 4000 books related to various subjects. The College has a well-established library which caters to the need of the students, research scholars and the faculty. Acquisition of knowledge depends mostly on reading, by the presence of spacious library our student teachers are motivated for extra reading, which in turn develops their skill. With the help of the library, the teaching faculties and the students created the habit of reading and they furnish thirst for more and more knowledge. College library helps in the advancement of learning and expansion of knowledge. The library functions on an open access system for the faculty members and for the students. This collection is expanded and updated each year.
Sports The college has sports facilities for all students.
Cafeteria The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.
Auditorium The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars. The Lecture Hall is spacious, well ventilated, and equipped with well-designed furniture, which makes learning an enlightening activity. The classrooms are Semi Oval in nature, so that individual attention can be given to each and every student.
Medical/Hospital The college has a health centre with a first aid facility for the students.
IT Infrastructure The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. With the special intention of providing ICT learning to our students, we have arranged a computer lab with 12 computers including internet facilities. Thirty students can engage themselves at a time in this lab. A beautiful auditorium (170 seats) and its infrastructure is an incentive to arrange various academic and cultural programs in our college campus. High-quality audio and video system are also available.
Laboratories The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students. The college has well equipped Physical Science laboratory, Biological Science laboratory, psychological laboratory.
Guest Room The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
