Mohanlal Memorial Institute of Education, Amritsar was established in 2008 and managed by New Gobind Public Welfare Society (R). It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress. The college is affiliated with Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and it is recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Jaipur & Govt. of Punjab to offer B.Ed. & D.Ed. courses. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.25 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 27th March 2011. The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves. It is a co-educational self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Amritsar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. The college also received the many achievements awards in the field of Teacher Training under Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) courses for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course. Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/ Humanity, Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification, equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the program.
Boys Hostel The institution has a hostel to accommodate approximately 200 students. The hostel has many facilities like a TV with cable, CD player, Telephone, Indoor games, and Fitness Center, Generator, Geysers, Water purifier, and Water coolers, Reading corner with facilities of newspapers, magazines, and books in the common room.
Girls Hostel The institution has a hostel to accommodate approximately 200 students. Library The library-cum-reading room with seating capacity for 100 students. It is equipped with the required number of titles and books including text and reference books relevant to the course of study, educational encyclopedias, yearbooks, electronic publications (CD- ROMs), and minimum journals of education and subscription to others in related disciplines. The library holdings are augmented with the addition of not less than two hundred titles annually including books and journals published and recommended by NCTE. The library has a photocopying facility and computer with internet facility for the use of faculty and student- teachers. Reading Tables, Chairs and fans are available in each reading room. The college library is computerized with near about 9118 books in total The Latest edition books and journals are procured by the library each year. Some books and journals are issued to the students for reading inside the reading room. There is also a separate reading room for teachers. Research scholars visit the library for their concerning references. Both teachers and students read in the library and books are also being issued to them for studies at home.

Laboratories The college has equipped with a language resource center with the facility of lingua-phone and other equipment to develop the linguistic ability of the faculty and students. This is highly essential to develop good communication skills which are the requirement of the current time. Science resource center: The college has a spacious Science resource center that is well equipped with different types of apparatus like glass slabs, prisms, slits, the concave and convex lens, screw gauge, voltmeter, ammeter, spring balance to perform various experiments related to different topics of Physical and Life Sciences. psychology resource center: The psychology resource center is well equipped with almost 150 tests, tools, and apparatus for syllabus related to psychological experiments. The resource center caters to the needs of B.Ed, D.El.Ed students.
