It is recognised by UGC, BCI, AICTE, PCI, and COA. The University was founded by Shri Om Parkash Bansal Educational and Social Welfare Trust. RIMT offers diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses through its various faculties which include engineering and technology, health science, art and design, agriculture, bio-science, nursing, paramedical, computer application, IT, humanities, library science, legal studies, para veterinary, commerce, management, education, legal studies and journalism.

University provides on-campus accommodation at par with home. All rooms are fully furnished; include utilities, Wi-Fi internet connection, and meals which are prepared in house by a chef, with snacks available between meals. The usual dining schedule from Monday to Saturday comprises full breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while Sundays greet students with continental breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Bathrooms are shared, and paid laundry facilities are available. Students get a study desk and chair, chest of drawers, wardrobe, washbasin, and more. There are also adapted rooms in the halls for students with disabilities. Students also have access to computer labs, fitness centers, and swimming pools. Recycling facilities and bicycle racks are provided throughout the campus. Roommates may come from all over. Often, students live with students whose native language is different. Because getting to know new people is a valuable part of the University difference, as also the best way to expand one’s University community and overall experience.
