The RV College of Engineering was established in 1963 with a vision of emerging as a leading academic institute in providing quality technical education, innovation and interdisciplinary research, with sustainable and inclusive technology being the main focus. The institute is a self-financing academic institution and is run by a not-for-profit organization named Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST). Initially, the RV College of Engineering Bangalore started with only three disciplines of engineering, namely electrical department, civil department, and mechanical department, and as of now, the college offers has more than 15 departments offering admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate and doctoral programmes in the domain of engineering, computer science, and basic sciences. According to NIRF engineering institutions rankings 2021, RV College of Engineering has secured the 77th position. In 2020, the college was ranked 70th in the engineering category.
With a campus area of over 16.85 acres and a set of more than 50 dedicated faculty members, RV College of Engineering Bangalore offers 12 Bachelor’s programmes, 36 Master’s programmes, and doctoral programmes. The college has advanced infrastructure that provides students with an apt environment for academic acceleration and learning. RV College of Engineering Bangalore has signed national as well as international MoUs with Hyderabad University, TE Connectivity India Pvt. The department of electronics and telecommunication engineering will be organising a national conference on “Digital Transformation and Challenges” on the occasion of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
The RV College of Engineering has initiated a free training programme, “Residential Varunmitra Skill Development Training Programme on Solar Water Pumping”, sponsored by the National Institute of Solar Energy.
Library The college library has a collection of 23 technical magazines, 233 technical journals, and 15 daily newspapers in English and Kannada language.

Cafeteria The food court of the college is very spacious and can accommodate almost a thousand students at once. It offers fresh and delicious food cooked in a hygienic environment.
Medical/Hospital The campus includes a health care centre that functions from 9 am to 7 pm every day. It also facilitates ambulance service in case of emergencies.
Wifi The campus of the RV College of Engineering Bangalore has the facility of wi-fi that all the students and staff members can use. The speed of the campus wi-fi is 600 MBPS and is available from 9 am to 12 pm.
