The institute is commonly known as SIMC Pune. SIMC Pune was founded by SB Mujumdar, who is the founding director and president of the Symbiosis Society. Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication is located in Mulshi, Pune. SIMC Pune is affiliated to Symbiosis International University. Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication courses are offered to students at only one level; postgraduate. Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication offers three courses; MBA Communication Management, MA Journalism, and MA Audio Visual Production.
