St. Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, Mangalore - 575028, Karnataka, IndiaSt Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) is an Autonomous Institute under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka State, and is recognized by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. SJEC is registered under the trust “Diocese of Mangalore, Social Action Department”.
Established in 2002, the College offers top-class education in Engineering, Business Administration and Computer Applications at UG, PG and Research levels. It has well-qualified staff, state of the art laboratories and all facilities. Presently about 2300 students are studying in the College.
The UGC granted autonomous status to the Institute from 2021. At SJEC, the OBE system has been implemented since 2011. Four of the UG programs, namely Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering, have full accreditation from the NBA until June 2022. Also, the institution has been accredited with A+ grade by NAAC and is valid up to February 2026.
The College provides for a wide variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, which give a head-start to students, developing their personality and imparting skills of decision-making and leadership. Campus Placement Department assists student’s secure good jobs.

- Boys Hostel
The College has created the facility of hostels for Boys separately in order to provide a good environment for them to continue their studies in a healthy and caring atmosphere. In the SJEC Hostels, the efforts are to promote gentlemanliness, studiousness, and fulfillment of the dreams of parents who send students to the hostels. Well-lighted and well-ventilated rooms are provided to the students.Rooms are available as the single seater and double seaters.Each student is provided with a cot, cupboard, study table and chair.There are a warden and a staff in-charge for each hostel who look after the discipline and well-being of the hostel inmates.All amenities such as canteen, fax, phone, e-mail, banking and postal services are available in the vicinity.Medical facilities are provided by a competent visiting doctor and a dispensary. When further assistance is required, cases are referred to Fathers Muller's Medical College Hospital run by the Diocese of Mangalore.hostels have separate mess facility.Study Halls are provided in both the hostels. - Girls Hostel

The Central Library of the college has kept pace with emerging challenges, perhaps one of the best technical libraries in the region. The state of the art library stretches over 1789 square meters; the library has in its collection more than 41318 volumes with 9560 titles on Engineering, Science, Management, and Humanities and subscribes to 90 technical journals, 5727 online journals and 12 online databases. It has the capacity to accommodate 460 students at a time. It has a membership with VTU Consortium, DELNET, National Digital Library and it is enabled with Wi-Fi technology and CCTV Surveillance System. - Sports

It provides a wide variety of delicacies to cater the tastes of each individual. There are separate sections for vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
