SLIET Longowal - Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology
Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal, Distt. Sangrur – 148106, Punjab, InSLIET was established under the Ministry of Human Resources and Development of the Government of India in 1989 and was officially inaugurated on 20th December 1991. The institute is fully funded by MHRD. It is recognized and approved by AICTE and UGC. SLIET is spread over 451 acres of land provided by the Punjab government. SLIET offers courses including BE, diploma, MSc, MTech, MBA, and Ph.D. through particular entrance test or merit and interview. The institute has secured 161th rank in the Engineering category in NIRF 2021 Ranking with 34.59 marks. It had secured 200th rank in the same category in NIRF 2020 Ranking.

1. By air, the nearest airport is the Chandigarh Airport, which is located approximately 150 km away from the campus. Students can hire a cab or bus from the airport to reach the campus in 2 hours and 30 mins.
2. Sangrur Railway Station is the nearest railway station from SLIET, which is only 18 km away, and students can reach the campus easily in about 21 minutes.

Facilities
- Boys Hostel
The institute provides hostel facilities for boys. This makes it easier for the students to reside within the campus and enjoy all the other facilities that the institute provides. The hostel rooms are well furnished and also have cable tv. There are 9 boys hostels with a capacity of about 230 students in each hostel. The PG hostels accommodate about 80 students each. For the accommodation of boys hostels, a set procedure is followed.

- Girls Hostel
The institute provides hostel facilities for girls. This makes it easier for the students to reside within the campus and enjoy all the other facilities that the institute provides. The hostel rooms are well furnished and also have cable tv. There are 4 girls hostels with a capacity of about 230 students in each hostel. - Gym
There is also a gym on the campus. Students have access to the gym and its equipment through a subscription. - Library
There is a central library in the institute which consists of all technical books that will be required for any course. In addition to that, there are also books on moral sciences, general awareness, and other such books on literature. With this, it becomes th right niche for book readers. In addition to that, there are also journals and newspapers in the library. - Sports
The institute also provides many facilities for sports enthusiasts. Many indoor and outdoor sports are available for the students. These include the carrom board, table tennis, cricket, football, basketball, among others. The campus also has a swimming pool that is well maintained. All the equipment for sports activities is maintained well and is changed regularly. - Auditorium
In addition to this, there is also an auditorium on the campus to hold big events and seminars. The auditorium has a decent seating capacity. There is a wifi facility for all the faculty and students of the college. - Medical/Hospital
The campus also ensures that it is ready for any medical emergency. This is done by providing a medical facility by the college called SLIENT Health Centre. The students can get the medicines of their immediate need and emergency consultation by the residing medical officer in the dispensary that is inside the campus. The health centre also has counsellors, a chairman, and paramedical staff. - Laboratories
The Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology is a very well built institute with an impressive infrastructure. It has well-equipped labs for the various courses that have all the latest equipment and technology to aid students learning. - Banks Facilities
Other than that, there is also a banking facility due to the presence of a bank ATM on the campus. The Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology also has a convenience store to aid students' needs and ensure that they get everything that they require within the campus itself. So, there isn’t much need for the students to go outside searching for items of requirement.
