MONTFORT COLLEGE located in Bangalore city is one of the 160 educational institutions in 20 States of India managed by the Institute of the Brothers of St Gabriel which is the parent organization of the Montfort College Society. The Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel have been involved in academic, technical and special education in India since 1903 mostly for the poor and the rural population.
Presently, there is an increased reliance on psychological agencies and experts for support and guidance. In order to address the large requirement for trained mental health professionals in educational, family, health-care and industrial settings, Montfort College Society has pioneered counsellor education training in India.

A person, who has passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with science stream or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
Facilities
- Boys Hostel
A well-managed hostel facility is available for male students separately, within the campus. for male students, it is arranged on the third floor of the college building. Students are accommodated either in single occupancy rooms or in twin-sharing rooms. Hostel facility is allotted on a “first come first served” basis. A hygienically run kitchen provides delicious food for the hostellers. Like an extended home, the hostel facilitates students in their academic pursuits and provides a conducive atmosphere for internal reflections. It provides an opportunity for multicultural interactions, enabling social and cultural growth. The college traditions and discipline apply to hostel life also. - Girls Hostel

The library caters to a wide range of reading requirements. It has a large collection of books on Psychology and Counselling apart from books of general interest. The library has an OPAC facility which enables easy access to books. The students and faculty also have access to e-books and online journals to provide varied sources of up-to-date information pertaining to the field. This enables the on-going professional development of the students and faculty. - Sports
The College has to foster interest in sporting activities among the students, the college has provided facilities for both outdoor and indoor games. Basketball, Volleyball, Throw ball, Badminton, and indoor sports like Table Tennis, and other board games are available on campus. The College Sports Day is normally held during the month of March /April every year. The large compound with its lush greenery and orchard provides a very relaxing environment for the students to spend their leisure time. - Cafeteria
A cafeteria is available at the college premises and remains open at designated times from Monday to Saturday. Breakfast and lunch are provided on request. Tea, coffee, and snacks are also provided. - Auditorium

The college has a supply of medications that can be used for ordinary ailments as well as for urgent First Aid purposes.
