Sarada Vilas Law College is the Second oldest Law College in Karnataka established in the year 1954 having magnificent history, creating special image in the society. It was started by Prof. Sampige Venkatapathaiah, an Educationalist, Freedom Fighter and himself an Advocate being the First Principal of the College, Since than college has made unique contribution in the field of Legal Education by rendering valuable service in shaping the law aspiring students. Sarada Vilas Law College is known for its quality of providing excellent value based legal education.
Sarada Vilas Law College has started its service of imparting legal education in the year 1954 under the patronage of the erstwhile Rulers of Mysore. In the beginning the college has started F.L. and B.L. courses which have later been changed as LL.B. degree course. Karnataka State Government sanctioned grant-in-aid status to our college for 3 year LL.B. degree course in the year 1988. At present, our college is affiliated Karnataka state Law University Navanagar Hubballi.

A candidate who is a graduate or post-graduate or possesses such academic qualification equivalent to degree are eligible for admissions to the three years course, The candidate should have secured at least 45% marks (40% for SC/STs) in their qualifying examination.

- Library
The College has a very spacious peaceful and well equipped library which has the collection of printed as well as electronic materials which include books, journals, CDs, etc. Current holdings include: We have updated 178 new law books for the academic purposes. Overall there are over 19,000 books in the Sarada Vilas Law College Library. covering all subjects of LLB, 15 journals, and back volumes of AIR from 1932. - Sports
The campus has a huge sports field being used for various outdoor sports like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volley ball etc., and has a dedicated Badminton court. A well equipped indoor facility for sports like Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom Board, etc., The Sport is an organized, competitive, entertaining, Healthy and skillful activity requiring commitment, strategy and fair play, in which a winner can be defined by objective means. The College computer lab is open to all the students during the college hours. Basic knowledge of computer is provided to the students during the college hours. They are also given knowledge regarding the use of computer in Legal Field, to work faster in solving practical problems and to make their presentations efficiently. - Moot Court
The college consists well Furnished and spacious Moot Court Hall. Moot Court is nothing but a fictitious court to conduct proceedings on Moot Court Problems. The final year students of 3 years & 5 years are given decided cases to prepare memorials so that they submit their arguments before the Moot Court. The Moot Court is the best platform for the final year students to get practical training in the academic year before they enter into real practice. Besides this, the students who go for moot court competitions will be trained in this moot court hall. The students have participated in many moot court competitions with the guidance of the Moot Court Committee members. Moot Court remains active throughout the academic year. The college will facilitate expenditure to the students who go for the Moot Court competitions. - Laboratories
