Sneha Sadan College of Special Education belongs to the Congregation of Mother of Carmel Mary Matha Province Angamaly. The founder of CMC is Saint Fr.Kuriakose Elias Chavara and Fr.Leopold Boccarow.Our vision is “God is my strength and my life”. Our mission is to enlighten every teacher trainees through moral, intellectual aesthetic and spiritual values. And our goal is to inculcate in the education, training, rehabilitation and inclusion of handicapped in the society.
This is realized, as we strive to train authentic persons and competent teachers dedicated to serve the children with special needs. Institution has its humble beginning in the year 2002, with diploma in special education which is affiliated to National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disability (NIEPMD) and B.Ed course in the year 2008 which is affiliated to M.G University, kottayam. Both the courses are recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi.
Alumni Commencement of SNM Training College dates back to 20-06-1960. The institution holds pride in its thousands of old student members who have made their marks of excellence in various fields of activities both nationally and internationally. Every year on the second Saturday of the month of January, the alumni meet is held in the college. Apart from this various batches of old students hold occasional gatherings during other times of year. The congregation serves as a uniting platform and discussion forum of alumni from across the world.
HOSTEL There is a hostel in the college for accommodating girls. Single room and dormitory facilities are there. The students and parents can choose whether the room or dormitory. Admission to the hostel will be a choice with a minimum one-month duration. Boarding charges are calculated by regarding the actual expenses every month.
LIBRARY AND LAB The library has a collection of about thousand six hundred volumes and it subscribes nearly twenty periodicals. All the collections in the library are classified and cataloged. Arrangements are being made to computerize the housekeeping operations of the library with the help of a software package. College Lab has Desktop Computers for students to avail themselves of its facility. The Internet facility available to the students gives them unlimited free access to various academic resources available on the net. The faculty and the students are encouraged and allowed to surf the internet free of cost.
BIO-METRIC FACILITY Bio-Metric Attendance facility is used in the college for every student and staff to enter the attendance. Each day in the morning and evening each one has to enter their attendance through biometric impression. The old-fashioned college attendance system is not quite sufficient today to keep track of students. Because of the availability of information over the internet today, it is hard to motivate students to attend lecture rooms. Because of this reason college attendance management system has to come up with an approach that ensures the strong contribution of students in classrooms.
