Sree Siddaganga College of Education, a premier Institute of Education in the State of Karnataka is located in a motivating educational ambiance. The Institution was started in the year 1972 by Dr. Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamigalu, a saint President, Sree Siddaganga Math, who is a visionary in the field of Education. It was the fervent desire of the Revered Swamiji to start a good College of Education to prepare quality teachers to function at the Secondary School Level.
The College has achieved marvels in the last 4 decades of its existence and now it has emerged as a full fledged institution, occupying an honored place among the colleges of education in the State of Karnataka. The college has secured ranks (including I rank) year after year due to the strenuous efforts of dedicated teachers. Through this it is attracting students not only from different parts of Karnataka, but also from the states of Kerala, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Delhi.
This Institution has a fine infrastructure and well equipped with all instructional facilities including computer, library and lab facilities. The College has been recognized by NCTE. The Institution has qualified and experienced staff members. The candidates appearing for the final examination completing the course with good percentage, qualifying with 95% to 100% results.
A Citizen of India who has passed any Bachelor’s degree examination of Tumkur University or any University in India or abroad recognized as equivalent through a 10+2+3/4/5 pattern of education who has obtained 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects he/she has studied for the degree is eligible for admission to B.Ed. program.
The candidate with 50% aggregate in the Degree or Master’s Degree is eligible for B. Ed. program.
Boys Hostel The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
Girls Hostel The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
Library The college library is well equipped, furnished, and spacious to accommodate 50 students at a time presently it has 17403 volumes including Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Gazetteers, and Yearbooks. 874 Journals Back Volumes and 77 CD’S, DVD’s and Video Cassettes then subscribe to more than 17 Educational Journals and 12 Magazines and 06 Kannada and English Daily News Papers.
Sports The college campus has a vast playground to play volleyball, throw the ball, athlete events shot put, and discus throw. It also has space to play indoor games such as – Carom Board and Chess.
