- Candidates are required to pass in 10+2 examination with 50% of aggregate marks for general category. For OBC category 45% of aggregate marks and for SC, ST and SCA category 40% of aggregate marks are required.
- Candidates must have passed with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects in their examination.
- Candidates must not be less than 18 years and no exceed the upper age limit of 25 years.
- For reserved category, relaxation of 3 years is given

There are three hostels for boys. The three boys hostels could accommodate 831 boys. There is one hostel for girls. The girl's hostel can accommodate 350 girls.
