The college has a team of eminent faculty members and a disciplined atmosphere which help to promote a holistic approach to learning. There is a right balance of cognitive, conceptual, ethical, humane and spiritual growth as a whole.

The college has been established in the interior area of Malabar with a view to cater the needs of engineering education in the north-eastern of the Malabar area, especially to people who belong to the backward communities, tribal communities and immigrant communities, who are otherwise deprived of qualitative higher education in their area. Nevertheless the college is open to all meritorious students from all over Kerala to benefit the best and disciplined Engineering education it imparts.

Library
Library and Information center, STM is one of the best engineering college libraries in Malabar. It started its function with a vision to serve the information needs of its users and it mainly holds books related to engineering and allied subjects. The library collection is about 5000Volumes. Library and Information Centre provides uncompromising information and intellectual requirements to its students and faculty with a user-friendly approach. It offers a fully integrated and dynamic environment for conducting academic study. Multiple copies ensure that resources are easily available in the Reference Section and Stock Section as well. The library has been fully automated, the Open Access System is followed and the Online Public Access Catalog service is made available to all staff and students. The college has an institutional membership with DELNET New Delhi. Through DELNET, staff and students can access more than 1500 e-journals. DDC Classification Scheme is used to organize subjects. Anglo-American Cataloging Rules are used for creating a book database in LIBSOFT Software.
Sports
The college provides excellent facilities for sports and games. A wide range of opportunities for outdoor games and indoor games are available on campus. To keep the students fit and strong, a health club is also set up. STM conducts an annual Games and Athletics Meet Ignite every year during the odd semester time. The event comprises all major games events such as Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis and included the major track and field events in the athletics section.
Cafeteria
The college has a spacious canteen facility on the college premises and is run by the college management. A variety of south Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college at highly subsidized rates with the highest quality. Our college canteen is blessed with a family atmosphere, with a variety of delicacies, touched by a homemade flavor, cooked to perfection, and served with great courtesy.
