Established in 1964, St. Xavier’s College for Women is located in Aluva, Kerala. The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and currently conducts 13 UG and 6 PG programs along with M. Phil and PhD. degree programs. The college also offers various add-on programs and computer courses. B.A, B.Sc and B.Com courses are offered at the undergraduate level and M.A, M.Sc and M.Com programs at the postgraduate level. Applicants are required to register online through UG-CAP and PG-CAP facilities at MGU. UG Admission for the various reserved categories is done online via the official college website. Application for admission is an online process managed by MGU and the college.
Sports Volleyball team of St. Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva became Winners at the Ernakulam District Youth Volleyball Championship held at Mooppathadom,Eloor on 29/03/2021.
Girls Hostel The college provides a campus residence facility to the students. The college hostel has 66 rooms which have the capacity to accommodate 3-4 inmates in one room. Well furnished rooms, a huge dining hall, a study hall, a prayer room, computers with printing and Xerox facility are the main features of the hostel. Hostlers are given chance to celebrate major festivals in the hostel. Hostel Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. The hostel has its live-in warden, a member of the CTC congregation, who administer the hostel. Corridors are always illuminated so that students can study at any time without disturbing other inmates. Apart from hygienic food, the hostel provides recreational facilities also. The application to the hostel is given on the day of the admission itself.
Gym The college has a Gym facility for the students.
Library The college library is the main source of information for the academic community. The library situated in the Mount Carmel Block of the college has the advantage of covering two-floor space of the building. Well furnished fully digitalized college library is under the INLIBNET project. INFLIBNET provides user id and passes the word to users of the library. It facilitates to gather information from e-journals, books and other information which supports research activities.
Sports The college has sports facilities for all students.
Cafeteria A well furnished and spacious Canteen function in the campus to cater to the needs of the students. Meals and refreshments are available in the canteen at subsidised rates. It is open from 8.30 in the morning till 4 pm in the evening.
Auditorium The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminar.
HospitalMedical The college has a health centre with a first aid facility for the students.
IT Infrastructure St. Xavier’s Computer Centre was established in 1997.T he main objective of the Centre is to provide opportunities to students, to take up add-on programs in Computer Languages. In the Internet Cafe, there is a provision for students to be on par with the world. This encourages the students to visit educational sites and acquire detailed information on the various topics of their interest. High download speed and quality ensure effective browsing. The Computer Centre also provides assistance for the students in their project and assignment works. The computer centre is now registered as one of the Sub-Centre for Continuing Education Kerala (CCEK)-extending the Diploma in Computer Application(DCA) programme. The course DCA is approved by Government of Kerala videos GO(Ms)No.37/2012/P&ARD dated.16/7/2012 of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Government of Kerala as a qualification for appointments through Kerala PSC.DCA is 6 months course and CCEK will organize the course, conduct the examinations and issue certificates to the successful candidates in a standardized pattern.
Transport Two college bus is in service for providing conveyance facility to students coming from Varapuzha and its neighbouring places.
Laboratories The college has a departmental based laboratories facility for the students.
Guest Room The college has a guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
