Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, B- Road, Churchgate, Mumbai India-400020Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai was established in 1913. The college has celebrated its centenary in the 2013-14 academic year. The current name was given to the college in acknowledgement of Lord Sydenham, the then Governor of Bombay presidency. The college has two divisions - junior college and senior college. The junior college is affiliated to Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Board, Pune, Divisional Board Mumbai. It offers standard XI and standard XII. The standard XI examinations are taken by the college and the standard XII examination is conducted by the H.S.C. Board - Mumbai division. The senior college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in commerce. The college also offers self-financed courses in Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Commerce in Banking and insurance (BBI), Vocational Courses in Foreign Trade, an NSE Certified Market Professional Course (NCCMP).

Library facility: The library has a vast collection of books. It subscribes to several national and international journals and periodicals of commerce and economics and also has encyclopedias for various disciplines. The library has an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility for the online search of the library books with title, author, keyword and subject.

Language Lab: The language lab is run at the library, which provides facilities to the students in order to make them proficient in English.

Laboratories: The college has the facilities of a lab. The practicals of S.Y.B.Com, T.Y.B.Com, B.M.S and Banking & Insurance are conducted in the lab.

Online exam centre: The College has an online exam centre. Internal examination and other competitive tests are conducted here. This centre helps students to appear for the online exams and prepare them for various competitive exams.

Gymkhana: The college has the facility of Gymkhana. It offers the facility of a basketball court and a volleyball court. The gymnasium hall also has the facility of indoor games like chess, carrom, and table tennis.

Sports: To encourage the sports activities, the college has reserved space at Oval Maidan, Churchgate for games like cricket, football and handball. Students can take an active part in these sports.

Hostel for boys: The hostel for boys is located at Government Colleges Hostel, which is situated right behind the college building on C-Road, Churchgate. The college has the facility of a common room, library, reading room, recreation room, sports hall, a canteen and mess.

Hostel for girls: The hostel for girls is available at Telang Memorial Hostel, C-Road, Churchgate, and Savitribai Phule Government Girls Hostel, Marine Drive, Charni Road.
