Ph.D. Law is a full-time course duration varies from 3 to 6 years, the student has to finish between this timeline to obtain the Ph. D degree offered from National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi.
A candidate who wishes to pursue a programme of study and research leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) will be required to seek registration to the programme under these Regulations as a Full - Time or Part - Time research student in the University or in an institution recognized for this purpose by the University.
Admission Process
Candidates seeking registration shall have passed the Departmental Admission Test (DAT) and ranked as per the norms laid down in Clause 9 of the Regulations. Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET Lecturership examination are exempted from DAT. They can join for Ph.D. at any time. However, UGC-NET Lecturership candidates will be eligible for University Research Fellowship (URF) only if they qualify DAT and get ranked. Foreign students who have been sponsored under a scholarship scheme by the Government of India for undergoing Ph.D. programme in India, are also exempted from DAT.
